David Bowie at the V&A
In a previous post I brought up the news that the V&A will host a retrospective of the fashions of musician David Bowie. The Telegraph has new information on the exhibition in the article “V&A to host David Bowie retrospective.”
The article states, “Granted unprecedented access to the David Bowie, the show will feature over 300 objects including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion, photography, film, music videos, set designs, Bowie’s own instruments and album artwork. The show will open to the public on March 23 next year.”
Visitors to the exhibition can “Expect to see more than 60 costumes including iconic Ziggy Stardust bodysuits designed by Freddie Burretti in 1972, Kansai Yamamoto’s flamboyant creations for the 1973 Aladdin Sane tour, and the Union Jack coat designed by Bowie and Alexander McQueen for the Earthling album cover in 1997.” I’m sure the show will be an interesting one to see - has anyone put this exhibition on your calendar as a must see?
